Wow, the pace of malarkey entering the marketplace seems to be quickening, and the products are growing even more malarkey-er. As an elderly reader, I have to say: Looks like I will be stepping off this mortal coil at just about the right time. Thank you for all you do, Jessica! I don't know how you maintain your sanity!

Malarkey-er is very good.

As a 53 year old, I must say I would’ve LOVED the outfit on that cover model back when I was a freshman in high school in the late 1980s. Now? Not so much. :) Also, I read DEAU the same way Homer Simpson says Doh!

So confused by the mascara ad. I initially assumed the mascara must be water proof, tears/visible emotion/loss of control/etc, and that was the conceit of the bit, but I looked into it and it...isn't? It just has a small brush. So I guess, big things are scary. Because. You know. Women be petite. Supposedly. (grumble grumble grumble)

The photo made me think of the movie Psycho. 🫠

ah yes finally someone has created a facial mask compatible with smoking and drinking organic/free trade/nitrate free wine! we are in hell! I do love the “anti aging is anti life” title of the Guardian article; that one will stick with me for a while. xo

The hairball idea is truly chef’s kiss.

You HAVE to do the hairball thing. Preferably taking the same route as the K-18 hairball. Sick to death of being targeted with post-menopausal hair loss ads to try and scare me into believing I'm going bald.

Yes, please do roll a giant hair ball through the streets of New York!

I for one would be happy to never see a Bieber or a Kardashian ever again. Pretty much anything they try to sell is a red flag for me.
