The one-year beauty buildup for this 6-hour event is one of the biggest scams ever.

I was in a friend's wedding in 2012 and she didn't do anything out of her usual beauty-wise - hair brushed straight, no makeup, her regular glasses. She didn't care if any of us did, but told us to not go too crazy, I think a few of us did neutral eyeshadow and mascara in the church bathroom. I still look back at those photos, she was stunning because she was SO happy, and we all look so happy for her! We really got to focus more on them and the day more than how we all looked. I had other friends do $300 updos and airbrushed makeup for weddings/bridesmaids, and felt like they spent half the way focused on touchups and smudges...
