I agree with the rest, part 2 please!!

I'm on it!!

I would like a part 2. A lot of times I just feel hopeless after reading about this kind of stuff, so something concrete I can DO would be great.

I agree, it felt like a big deal when I was reading it, but my secondary feeling was like, despair. Haha. I felt depressed and like I had two choices “never use products or make purchases again” or “support conservative donors” -- which is my own issue of black and white thinking, but still. I would also like a part two actionable items vibe.

Exactly! Despair and the belief that nothing I do would matter anyway.

It matters!! Pt 2 coming soon x

I have been thinking about your “honest to the point of being cringe” admission, and I just wanted to tell you: I feel you. You pour love and brilliance and energy into your work and you’re like “THIS IS MY SUPER BOWL” and then… 🦗.

So I want you to know that there hasn’t been just one thing you’ve written that has been a lightning bolt that changed everything. It’s the continuous flow of your witty insights, the science paired with laughing-through-the-pain, that’s made me an infinitely more conscious consumer. I WAS SEPHORA ROUGE ONCE, JESSICA! And now, I think about my skin doing its absolute best to protect me and talk to me, and my place in an ecosystem of real and magnificent humans who are being harmed every minute of the day by beauty standards, and environmental impacts, and the reckless corporations who don’t give a shit about my actual well-being, and… most of the time, I don’t buy. And I do it while still being able to be gentle, not judgmental, towards the friends who aren’t there yet.

You did that. You Trojan-horsed your way in (and you had help, from other unicorns with similar messages for other corners of consumerism), and you changed the way I’m showing up. I’m just one person, who loved beauty products for more than 30 years (I’m not even 40 yet lol). And I’m sure I’m not the only one. So thanks for showing up continually, because it’s making a difference.

I think it didn't go big because at this point I don't expect corporations to have consciences. I wasn't surprised after reading your report. Call me cynical but it just didn't register as BIG that Amazon backs right wing, anti-abortion candidates (insert woman throwing her hands up in defeat emoji)

I shared the abortion post on my Facebook and got no comments. I was also surprised, considering I have a lot of friends who feel strongly about it. Maybe I needed to explain the contents rather than just share the link 🤷🏻‍♀️

Wait I love that you're apart of hashtag Bachelor Nation!! It's my favorite form of mindless entertainment that also at times leaves me feeling confused and worried about mainstream dating culture <3

Yes to a part two of the brand post!!

yes to part 2!!

Yes — I think my weariness responded to Part 1. But my activism will respond to a Part 2.

Oh man, this is going to sound so cynical, but... I kind of wasn’t surprised? I read it and thought, “of course.” And I never really associated products like Botox with Women’s empowerment, anyway, no matter what they say in their marketing.
